Jubilee Housing Hosts National Night Out: An Evening of Community, Connection, and Celebration

Washington, DC — Jubilee Housing warmly invites residents, neighbors, and friends to its annual National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jubilee Plaza (1800 Columbia RD NW). This free event is a cherished national tradition that brings people together to celebrate community, uplift one another, and share in the joy of togetherness.

Last summer, Jubilee transformed Ontario Road Plaza into a vibrant gathering space filled with music, laughter, and connections. This year, the celebration continues just steps away at the Jubilee Plaza, a space that holds deep meaning for the affordable housing non-profit organization. Gifted to Jubilee nearly a year ago, the plaza serves as more than a location; it stands as a symbol of community trust, investment, and a shared vision for inclusive, justice-rooted neighborhood spaces.

“Now that we have the Jubilee Plaza, we can serve the greater community and that’s exactly what we’re doing,” said Miya Morris, Director of Resident Services. “We want give the community the resources they need. With events like Jubilee’s National Night Out, we have a way to connect, partner with other organizations, and give back.”

With generous support from Wellpoint and The Tryst Trading Company, this year’s event will feature:
• Live music from DJ Pryme
• A special appearance by radio station 93.9 WKYS
• Free food that offers an array of hot dishes and delectable treats
• Face painting, craft tables, and a photo booth to capture the memories of the event-filled event

From music to meals and art to laughter, National Night Out is a powerful reminder of the beauty that blooms when neighbors come together. Jubilee Housing sees this event as an extension of their mission to build strong, compassionate communities where everyone can thrive.
