Resident Services Program Assistant

Position Description:
Jubilee is seeking a Resident Services Program Assistant to support a comprehensive Teen Program for Jubilee Housing residents ages 13 – 24. The Program Assistant will work directly with the Senior Manager of Teen Programs to support all aspects of Teen Services Programming. The position primarily serves in the Teen Center, but as Teen Center is under the umbrella of Resident Services, this position may also provide support to the Resident Services Team under the direction of the Director of Resident Services. This position includes but is not limited to educational support, supervision for in person and virtual programming, life skills development activities, mealtime food distribution, and other day to day supports for teens enrolled in Teen Services Programming. This position also will coordinate and support programming for a M – F drop-in at the Teen Center, which houses most of the Teen Program services and activities.
The goal of this position is to support an array of programs and services that engage and support teens and young adults to maximize educational opportunities, to advance college and/or career, and to experience fulfilling and exciting personal growth opportunities. This position also will collaborate with families, interns, Jubilee staff, and Teen Center participants. This is a full-time position, with work hours mainly between 11am-7pm, Monday through Thursday and 10am-6pm on Fridays. These hours are subject to change, due to pandemic- impacted virtual or hybrid-related schedule changes. Hours worked may be in person and/or virtual, depending on programming. Occasionally, a Saturday event may occur, and staff participation is expected.
Reporting & Working Relationships:
This is an exempt position, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Teen Programs.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Provide support to assist with supervision for Teen Center participants during Teen Center hours of operation
- Provide support for operational needs as needed to Manger of Teen Programs
- Support for Teen Center will include engagement, education, programming, information about college and career, safe haven, and recreation
- Support and engage Jubilee Housing youth, 7th grade – 12th grade, 18- 24-year-olds,and current Jubilee Housing college students to build relationships and to advance program development and execution
- Receive training that is necessary for operational purposes including becoming a Capital Area Food Bank certified food handler
- Support meal distribution for meals provided during programming
- Engage with youth during their free time while in the Teen Center
- Support Sr. Manager of Teen Programs with planning weekly after school and summer camp programming activities, lessons, and field trips
- Assist with outreach communication to parents and participants for recruitment and retention
- Support with various administrative tasks as needed including but not limited to use of Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to track attendance, complete program reports, and grant-related reports as requested
- Support children’s emotional, academic, and social development, and maintain awareness of individual needs
- Overall support to the Manager of Teen Programs
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Computer proficiency including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and ability to learn to use Jubilee Housing data base and reporting software is desired
- Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience working in a direct care position with youth or young adults including mentoring, supervision staff, tutoring, educational settings, camp counselors, (internship experience considered)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s level degree preferred in human services related degree fields also preferred
COMPENSATION:
- Salary range: $40,000-45,000, based on experience
